400 Atlantic Street, Stamford Achieves LEED Silver

Project Background and Services:

Steven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA) was commissioned to assist the Landis Group with obtaining a long-time goal of LEED for Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance certification for 400 Atlantic, a Class-A property located in downtown Stamford, Connecticut. The fifteen-story building consists  primarily  of general office space, but also includes a cafeteria for tenants on the ground floor. Serving as the LEED certification consultant on the project, our team helped 400 Atlantic earn a LEED for Existing Buildings Silver rating. LEED certification distinguishes structures that decrease operating costs, reduce waste sent to landfills, conserve energy and water, reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and, in turn, qualify for tax rebates and other incentives.

Partnering with 400 Atlantic’s in-house engineering staff and Southport Engineering, a Connecticut-based design and consulting firm, the team worked tirelessly to ensure that the property was transformed into an energy efficient, sustainable structure compliant with LEED-EBOM Silver requirements.
