Nicole Ceci is a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Building Operations, Decarbonization, and Efficiency Group at SWA. She assists clients in meeting energy savings goals in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Nicole’s building science experience includes design and implementation of high-performance HVAC systems, electrification and decarbonization, and data analysis of building performance. Since joining SWA, Nicole has completed sustainability services for over 30 million square feet of multifamily buildings.
Nicole leads some of the team’s engineering research projects, including studies of savings from decoupling domestic hot water and heating plants, comparing real world hot water usage to industry assumptions, testing new water heating technologies, and developing new approaches to electrification of building systems.
In addition to working with physical buildings, she has also completed citywide studies on New York City energy usage performance for NYCEEC and Fannie Mae, and advises the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability on data-driven approaches to policies promoting multifamily sector energy savings. Nicole is a frequent presenter at industry-leading energy and sustainability conferences, and has appeared in multiple publications.
