SWA Expands Enclosure Consulting Services

HeadshotsSteven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA) is excited to announce the expansion of our Building Enclosure Design and Consulting Services with the addition of four enclosure experts formerly of James R. Gainfort, AIA Consulting Architects (JRGAIA). JRGAIA provides enclosure consulting services to some of the most architecturally significant buildings in the country, including New York City’s Guggenheim Museum, The Clark in Williamstown, MA, and currently, The Culture Shed in Hudson Yards.

Under our new agreement with Mr. Gainfort, JRGAIA continues to offer exterior enclosure consulting services. At the same time, former staff members Alexandra Flavia, Andrew Piedl, Joshua Moore and Kyle Kugler, will expand SWA’s enclosure group. SWA and JRGAIA provide complementary services and have collaborated on dozens of successful projects in the past – making SWA a logical choice for this transition.

SWA’s expanded building enclosure consulting services include: forensic investigation; evaluation and assessment; assembly design, detailing and construction document reviews; specifications; and construction administration for all exterior building enclosure components. With a combined experience of over 30 years in a wide range of projects, including high-end and specialty enclosure systems, the team specializes in air and moisture management and thermal performance analysis with an emphasis on high performance buildings. SWA also offers building roof and wall investigation and diagnostic services for existing and historic buildings.

“The addition of the JRGAIA enclosure team enhances our commitment to providing a whole-building approach to durability and energy efficiency,” said SWA Senior Vice President, Bill Zoeller. “We are excited to have them on board and look forward to providing our clients with a broad range of building enclosure services.”

SWA has the ability to fully support the building envelope requirements of the LEED Rating System, including Building Envelope Commissioning (BECx) and design reviews. In addition, the building enclosure team offers moisture modeling and thermal envelope detailing in accordance with Passive House certification requirements.

Steven Winter Associates, Inc. welcomes Alexandra, Andrew, Josh, and Kyle to the team.
