Course Description: Attention realtors and property managers! According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the number one source of housing discrimination is disability-related. Steven Winter Associates, Inc. has developed this training to ensure you are prepared to offer buyers and renters with disabilities equal access to housing. The 3-hour course will provide an overview of the Fair Housing Act (FHA) with a unique focus on disability rights in housing. The presenter will discuss the FHA’s nondiscrimination policies and procedures as well as best practices for compliance. Emphasis will be placed on accessible housing including how to respond to requests for reasonable accommodations and reasonable modifications from residents with disabilities.
