William Zoeller is a Registered Architect and Senior Vice President with SWA. He has 33 years of experience in building design and construction, building science research, energy-efficiency, disaster-resistant construction, and building materials product development. Zoeller has specialized expertise in advanced and traditional materials; design to resist natural hazards; energy efficient building practices; and energy upgrades in historic buildings. He has participated in product development and marketing analysis work for major building material manufactures including CertainTeed, DuPont, Dow, and BASF.
Bill has worked on hazards resistance research for HUD and FEMA, and leads SWA efforts in multifamily resiliency assessments and solutions implementation, including multiple property portfolios affected by Hurricane Sandy such as Enterprise Communities and NYC Housing Development Corp.
Zoeller has guided multiple historic preservation projects including repairs and additions to one of the oldest non-residential buildings in New Canaan, CT, a registered 1830’s era New England church.
Mr. Zoeller occupies the Energy-Efficiency seat on the State of Connecticut Codes & Standards Committee and is a frequent speaker and trainer on cost-effective high-performance building at national conferences and educational workshops.
