10 Steps to Ensuring Those Beautiful Custom Homes are also Comfortable, Long Lasting and Efficient

10 Steps to Ensuring Those Beautiful Custom Homes are also Comfortable, Long Lasting and Efficient

Course Description: It’s the house of your clients’ dreams: beautiful, spacious and designed specifically for them to provide years of enjoyment. But new and expensive doesn’t guarantee comfort, durability, or efficiency. Over the past few years, SWA has been called on to evaluate severe decay and mold issues, spaces that can’t be brought up to temperature, freezing pipes and extremely high utility bills – all in new, custom, multi-million dollar homes. Don’t let a few oversights turn it into a nightmare. During this session, SWA will provide you with some basic steps to help you create healthy, comfortable dwellings for years to come.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the limitations of the building codes.
Explain how surface temperatures and air temperature affect occupant comfort.
Identify common cold spots in homes.
List 5 questions the architect should ask their clients.
