Accessibility Review of Model Building Codes
SWA provided consulting to HUD’s Model Code Working Group on its comparative analysis of the model building codes to identify provisions that violate the accessibility requirements of the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act. The ground-breaking analysis supported the promulgation of a building code that, for the first time, incorporated the legal requirements of the FHA.
