Value Engineering
SWA, under contract to the U. S. Department of State (DoS) participated in a Value Engineering (VE) Study for the New Office Annex in the embassy compound at Abuja, Nigeria. SWA staff provided professional engineering expertise in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, acoustics, and green building design. As a result of the VE study, DoS was able to save hundreds of thousands of dollars and build a more efficient and durable facility.
The DoS conducts VE studies on its buildings around the world. Typically conducted during the preliminary design phase of a project, VE studies help to stretch construction dollars and to improve the performance of a facility project. The professionals participating in the VE process base their findings on life-cycle costing and return on investment.
SWA has the experienced licensed professional architects and engineers on staff who are able to provide the types of services required by most clients conducting value engineering studies. SWA has participated in value engineering studies for federal and state agencies, including those for university buildings and overseas embassy projects.
