Case Consulting – Fair Housing – Private Sector
SWA served the plaintiff’s attorneys, a Washington-based not-for-profit organization, as its fair housing expert in its case against a top Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) cited for nationwide violations of the design and construction requirements of the Fair Housing Amendments Act. The case covered approximately 30,000 dwelling units in 70 properties dispersed across 18 states. SWA’s consulting services included large-scale field inspections of dwelling units, common areas, and sites, conducted to identify regulatory violations. SWA worked with the fair housing expert for the opposing counsel to develop design solutions and remediation efforts necessary to bring all projects into compliance.
