Conformance Study
SWA was selected by HUD as the sole contractor responsible for conducting plan reviews and field inspections of nearly 400 multifamily housing developments to support HUD’s first national effort to assess conformance with the FHA’s Accessibility Guidelines.
The ground-breaking study, Multifamily Building Conformance with the Fair Housing Accessibility Guidelines, released by HUD in June 2003, estimated the proportion of building elements related to accessibility which was found to be in conformance with the Guidelines. The study represents the first useful baseline assessment of conformance at a national level.
