SWA provides sustainability consulting at the planning level because we value the sum of buildings together, whether in the context of a community, a region, or a client’s portfolio of developments.

To that end, SWA works with our clients to develop flexible yet methodical sustainability strategies to meet any goal—whether you seek a certain high performance energy profile, LEED® or ENERGY STAR® certification across an entire portfolio, or simply the foundation for greener capital upgrades in the future. For every project, SWA creates a customized plan of sustainability protocols and guidelines that can be implemented en masse within a client’s portfolio.

For new developments, SWA develops prescriptive or performance-based guidelines for use by architects, engineers and builders. For existing buildings, we develop efficient operations and maintenance guidelines and provide training to building management staff and owners. In both cases, SWA also works with clients on coordinating with vendors and assessing new technologies for future implementation.
