The Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG) www.WBDG.org is a complete Internet resource that provides government and industry practitioners with one-stop access to up-to-date information on a wide range of building-related guidance, criteria and technology from a “whole buildings” perspective. First produced for the U.S. Navy’s Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) to simplify access to sustainable design criteria and standards, the WBDG was developed by an advisory committee coordinated by the Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC), managed by SWA. Currently, the WBDG is hosted and managed by the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) with SWA as the secretariat as well as coordinator for developing the site’s content.
