Residential Overview
SWA offers a variety of services to homeowners, builders, developers, utilities and government agencies interested in improving the performance of residential buildings while reducing energy costs and environmental impact. We are a national leader in developing green guidelines and best practices for homes and communities. We work with government and private industry to research and develop innovative, cost-effective energy solutions.
SWA’s staff of professional architects, engineers, and building scientists can guide you through each step to getting your single-family or multifamily homes nationally accredited through the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® for Homes™ Rating System, the ENERGY STAR® Homes program, Enterprise Green Communities certification program, the National Green Building Standard, and Passive House US certification.
SWA’s residential research and development team can also suggest ways to leverage building technologies and best practice construction techniques to solve a host of performance problems. Many of our projects receive incentives from government entities or utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs to support improving the quality of our housing stock. SWA can provide information about funding opportunities that might apply to your project.
Not a builder or developer? Current homeowners can turn to SWA to improve the energy efficiency of their homes through local utility programs or personalized energy audits.
