Design and Construction Professionals

SWA is a leader in developing and delivering training to design and construction professionals on a wide variety of subjects including accessibility (Fair Housing, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Best Practices), code compliance, high performance envelopes, and mold and moisture prevention. Training programs can be delivered in classroom setting, via web platform, or in the field. SWA is an approved training provider for single-family and multifamily housing by the Building Performance Institute.

Property Managers, Building Staff, and Tenants

SWA helped develop Enterprise Green Communities’ “Green Operations & Maintenance” Training for Property Management and “Training in a Box” for Residents and offers training services in both programs. We believe that educating property managers and building staff, along with engaging residents on building efficiency issues, supports healthy living for all tenants, lowers utility costs, and maximizes the environmental benefits of green housing.

SWA also offers Green & Healthy Property Management Training. Successfully completing the course satisfies HUD’s green training requirement under the Mark to Market Green Initiative and Recovery Act/Green Retrofit Program as well as the National Affordable Housing Management Association’s training requirements for their Credential for Green Property Management.

Property managers and superintendents may also be interested in earning Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification as a Building Operator through SWA’s BPI-approved training course.

Multifamily clients may also be interested in accessibility training, operations and maintenance training (customized by building, optional LEED® considerations), and contractor and subcontractor design training. All trainings can be tailored to specific building types, needs and systems, and can be conducted in customized time modules.
