Federal Government Client Services
SWA offers government clients the same set of energy consulting, certification (including LEED® and ENERGY STAR®), sustainability consulting, compliance, and training that we offer to clients from other market sectors — with special considerations for the needs and challenges that government clients must balance. SWA also pairs our government work with incentive programs as appropriate.
General Services Administration (GSA) Contract # GS-21F-0117V
As a GSA Contract Holder, SWA is one of only 18 professional teams in the nation qualified and approved to offer comprehensive professional energy services to government agencies under a GSA Blanket Purchase Agreement. SWA is also a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) holder in a variety of energy and sustainability special item numbers.
Not only does SWA have in-depth knowledge of government standards and sustainability mandates, we have also assisted various government clients in authoring and updating several of these standards, such as the Unit Cost Study and LEED Applications Guide. As a result, SWA has become an expert in the federal process for delivering sustainable, secure, accessible, cost-effective, healthy, functional, and productive facilities. This expertise directly benefits GSA when working with us, as we offer best-practice solutions that are in line with the latest government standards.
Federal High Performance and Sustainable Buildings (HPSB) Guiding Principles
SWA's work with the HPSB Guiding Principles goes back to the 2006 MOU and continues with the implementation of the 2009 Executive Order that makes reductions of greenhouse gas emissions a priority for the federal government and requires agencies to develop sustainability plans toward this goal. At least 15% of each agency’s existing facilities and building leases above 5,000 sf must fully meet the Guiding Principles by 2015. SWA can help you comply with the new federal standards by benchmarking your building, conducting an energy audit, performing retro-commissioning and doing all of the necessary research, documentation and reporting to the GSA. SWA devises a feasible plan for necessary capital improvements for future compliance.
